District Collector Niranjan Das has cancelled the Operation Theatre (OT) Attendant examination conducted by Health Department for appointment of OT attendants in the district.
The examination has been cancelled owing to errors in the question paper and irregularities in the examination process.
The examination was conducted by the Health Department on June 29 but a number of shortcomings were reported in the examination process. The question paper and answer sheets did not have stamp or seal after being distributed among the candidates with only half of the total 1250 candidates appearing in the examination.The question paper had June 28 as the date of examination but the examination was held on June 29.
Above all, as many as 25 questions were repeated in the question paper. The errors and shortcomings of the examination process were highlighted prominently by local media and thereafter an investigation was ordered by the Collector. After the investigation, Collector Niranjan Das cancelled the examination on Wednesday. “The new date of examination will be declared later. Transparency will be maintained in the examination,” said Das.
