“We are taken to different tournaments but not a single player gets chance to participate in ‘Greeko Roman style.’ The coaches and team managers allegedly ‘sell’ our weight groups to the players of other States like Haryana, Delhi, Jharkhand etc who play in place of Chhattisgarh wrestlers,” the wrestlers alleged while talking to reporters here.
They said that they have cheated them on previous occasions also but they dared not to raise voice in view of their sports career.“But this time they crossed all limits and we had to raise the issue with the authorities”, said Domendra Kumar Nishad, a national level wrestler. He said that despite having good players in Greeko Roman style, the Chhattisgarh players are given chance only in Free Style wrestling.
