The World Olympic Day scheduled on Sunday June 23, would be celebrated as ‘Shraddhanjali Divas’ in Chhattisgarh this year, informed Prashant Raghuvanshi, Sports Administrator Chhattisgarh Olympic Association (COA).
This decision was taken seeing the martyrdom of veteran Congress leader and first life time President of India Olympic Association (IOA) and patron of COA VC Shukla, President of Chhattisgarh Khokho Association Uday Mudliyar and Bastar Tiger Mahendra Karma whose son Deepk Karma is President of Dantewada Olympic Association.
Tributes would be paid to the deceased leaders along with those killed in the catastrophe at Kedarnath Uttarakhand.
The tribute paying program would be held at Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium Budha Talab from 11.30 am onwards.
