CM seeks third chance to propel growth

SR

During the last 10 years we have executed a lot of development works putting the State on the development expressway and now have to maintain this tempo and take the development forward.

I have seen vibes of trust in your eyes and won’t belie it at any cost. We also kept our words by fulfilling promises made to the people and would again stick to fulfilling our commitments. If you want to see me as chief minister of Chhattisgarh third time and to take the state to the newer heights of development and making Chhattisgarh leader among the developed states, let the BJP have your absolute mandate to form government third time,’’ said Chief Minister Raman Singh.

Addressing massive gathering of people during his road show at Janjgir-Champa in favour of BJP candidate Narayan Chandel on Wednesday, the Chief Minister hit out at the policies of the UPA Government led by the Congress at the Centre and accused it of indulging in rampant corruption.

He said nobody will trust the promises of Congress which assured solving the inflation within 100 days of coming to power in 2009 polls, as after four and half years the prices of essential items have virtually risen ten times.

Making sarcasm on Congress poll promises, Dr Singh asked when the Congress is ruling at the Centre why did not it fixed the Minimum Support Price for paddy at `2,000 per quintal as also why the party was not doing anything in Congress ruled states.

The Chief Minister also held road shows and addressed public meetings at Ambikapur in support of Anurag Singh Deo and at Pratappur in support of Ramsevak Paikra.

He also addressed public meetings at Sonhat, Premnagar, Kapu, Adbhar and Baradwar asking the people to vote for BJP candidates. People, specially women, came out to street in droves and after performing Aarti blessed Dr Singh and BJP thumping win.
