On the occasion of International Women's Day, Chief Minister Raman Singh welcomed a bike rally at his official residence on Thursday.
The rally was organized by Women and Child Development Department, which started from Telibandha pond and reached Chief Minister's official residence after traversing through various parts of the city.The rally concluded at Marine Drive.
The Chief Minister extended greetings of International Women's Day to all the women participants of the bike rally.
He said that a number of women have participated in this rally as representatives of police, medical and education departments and women self-help groups.
Singh said that through this rally, the message of gender equality and women empowerment is being spread.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government in Chhattisgarh is conducting several schemes for women welfare. As a result, our state is one of the leading states in terms of sex-ratio and soon it will secure the first position in the country, he said.
