labourers, who have to travel all the way from their villages or cities for job at distant construction sites, will no more have to worry about their railway tickets.
Keeping in view the challenges of their daily life, State Government, in the leadership of Raman Singh, has initiated Chief Minister Construction labourers ‘Izzat Card’ scheme for providing free monthly Railway season passes to the construction labourers.
Today morning, CM distributed free monthly season railway passes, under the scheme, to 523 labourers in District Headquarters Rajnandgaon and extended his best wishes. Addressing the function organised at residential office of Chief Minister, Raman Singh said that honoring the hard work of labourers and helping them to live a respectable life is the moral and social duty of any responsible Government.
Chhattisgarh Government has initiated this scheme to relieve the labourers, of unorganised sector those engaged in construction works, from daily expenses on railway tickets for traveling up to the construction site. Chief Minister said that using this monthly season railway pass, the labourers will be able to travel upto 150 kms in a day for free of cost. Dr Singh said that the monthly season passes will prove a great relief for the labourers, especially those who travel frequently from Rajnandgaon to Bhatapara and Godia in Maharashtra.
Chief Minister said that organised labourers always manage to get their voice across for redressal of their demands and grievances. But unorganised labourers often find it difficult to convey their grievances to Government. Considering which, State Government is itself taking the initiative for the welfare of labourers belonging to unorganised sector. Meanwhile, CM Raman Singh also talked about various other welfare schemes being conducted by State Government through Bhavan Avam Sannirman Karmkar Kalyan Mandal, and lauded the effective implementation of these schemes in Rajnandgaon as about 70,000 labourers of the district have been benefitted under the scheme. In the programme, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Civil Supply Corporation lilaram Bhojwani, MP Madhusudan Yadav and Deputy Chairman of 20-point Programme Implementation Committee Khubchand Parakh and several other public representatives were also present.
