Chief Minister Raman Singh has congratulated the entire Rajnandgaon district and Village Panchayat of litiya besides panchayats of Banjaridand (Khadgava block) and Devgarh (Bharatpur block) for being awarded on the occasion of International literacy Day in New Delhi on Monday.
later, the Panchayat representatives of the awarded panchayats paid courtesy call on Chief Minister and Union Minister of Human Resources Development Smriti Irani at her office.
Both the Chief Minister and the Union HRD Minister congratulated Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat litiya Anju Markendey, Sarpanch of Devgarh Agasiya Bai and Deputy Sarpanch of Banjaridand Sarita Sahu and District Administration and District Panchayat officials of Koriya and Rajnandgaon districts.
On the occasion, Additional Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh Government N Baijendra Kumar, Higher Education Secretary Dr Bl Agrawal, School Education Secretary Subrat Sahu, Collector Rajnandgaon Ashok Agrawal, and other officials were also present.
It may be mentioned here that on Monday at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, President Pranab Mukherjee honoured three Gram Panchayats of Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh with National literacy Award.
