Chief Minister Raman Singh has directed to make required corrections in village-wise paddy procurement record to safeguard the farmers’ rights to benefit them under paddy procurement policy 2014-15.
Food, Civil Supply and Consumer Protection Department on Sunday issued an order to this effect on Sunday. Officials from the Department said that the aforesaid decision was taken after finding mistakes committed by data entry operators while feeding data of paddy procurement in computers from Mahasamund, Durg, Dhamtari, Surguja, Raipur, Kawardha, Sukma and other districts.
Following this, it became difficult to implement the State government’s fresh order to procure 15 quintals per acre paddy from its previous directive of 10 quintals per acre. The Food Department took the Chief Minister’s permission and issued a circular to all the district collectors stating that proposals have received from different districts to make necessary adjustments in village-wise paddy procurement data recorded in the departmental software by the food officials through their modular.
Therefore, the district collectors were granted permission to assign the task to the Food Inspector and Food official for fixing the data related problem by making necessary adjustments in it. Copy of the circulars has also been dispatched to all the divisional commissioners, MARKFED, Apex Bank and all the Food inspectors and Food officials.
