Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday urged Leader of Opposition Narayan Chandel to tell BJP MLAs to raise the state’s public issues before Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Baghel said in a letter to Chandel that in the last four-and-a-half years no such efforts were made by the BJP MLAs to seek a meeting with the Prime Minister.
It needs to be appreciated that just before the state's assembly election, such an effort is being made cutting across the political divide, he said.
He said the state government had been raising several issues related to Chhattisgarh. These include compensation of the Goods and Services Tax, release of Rs 4,000 as coal royalty, restoration of passenger trains and ensuring regular supply of coal and iron ore to local industries.
The other points are recovery from chit fund companies, inclusion of reservation bill in the 9th Schedule, starting of metro rail service in the state, giving Raipur an international airport and expansion of Bilaspur airport.
Baghel said these points can be raised when the BJP MLAs meet Modi in New Delhi.
