A chopper carrying the State’s Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Brijmohan Agrawal on Tuesday made an emergency landing at Swami Vivekananda Airport, Raipur after it developed a technical snag.
According to the police, the Minister accompanied by few others had left Raipur in the State helicopter to take part in a programme under lok Suraj Abhiyan in insurgency-infested Kukrajhor village of Narayanpur district in Bastar.
After around 20 minutes of flight from Raipur’s Police Parade Ground, pilot of the Chopper detected some technical snag in one of the engines of the helicopter.
As a preventive measure, the pilot decided to return and landed at the Swami Vivekananda Airport around 12:40 pm. The programme of the Minister was rescheduled and he was flown to Bastar’s district headquarters Jagdalpur in a State plane later on.
