Chhattisgarh government has sought two more months’ time to submit suggestions to the Union human resource development ministry for new ‘Education Policy 2019’.
Chhattisgarh school education minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam conveyed this to union minister for human resource development Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ through a letter.
Dr Singh in the letter pointed out that new education policy should include the challenges faced by Chhattisgarh. To include all the challenges faced by the state in education sector, there should be extensive discussions for consensus before forwarding any suggestions, so additional time is required.
Letter further stated that the state is committed to provide quality education for which efforts are underway. It is a moment of joy as maximum inputs provided by the state for ‘Draft National Education Policy 2016’ has been included in the ‘Draft National Education Policy 2019’, it said.
School education department is already through plans, programmes, discussions and workshops with parents, communities, teachers, non-government institutions, teachers-trainers, educationists and other stakeholders are working on the amendments and recommendations, the minister said.
