Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik on Tuesday said the Chhattisgarh government was not serious about enforcing prohibition and so it was giving excuses to prolong the state of affairs.
In a statement, Kaushik said that instead of taking a decision, the government was sending study teams to states where prohibition has been enforced.
It was also not correct for the government to say that liquor consumption in tribal areas is a part of their culture and hence they have to be taken into confidence.
If their intentions were clear, they would have fulfilled their election promise, he said.
