Staff Reporter

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Sunday that Chhattisgarh was at the forefront of the country in silk production. The demand for clothes made in the state comes even from foreign countries.

He said this at a weavers' conference organized by the Chhattisgarh Bunkar Shilpi Sangh in Raipur.

He announced that the Chhattisgarh State Handloom Association will supply uniforms to school children in the academic session 2024–25.

Members of the weavers' society from across the state were present.

He added: "The weaving community is very hard working and entrepreneurial. They should carry forward their traditional profession with advanced skills.

"We have taken all necessary steps, from the training of weavers to cooperation in production and making their products available to the market. Our government is with you at every step."
