Chhattisgarh’s law and order has failed: BJP

Staff Reporter

The Chhattisgarh government has imposed the National Security Act (NSA) because the law and order situation has gone out of its control, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said on Sunday.

BJP state President Arun Sao and former Chief Minister Raman Singh said the NSA was meant to save a sinking Congress. It is a step to impose an Emergency. It would assist in communal appeasement and further push religious conversion.

The BJP will oppose any move to restrict freedom in the name of law and order.

Raman Singh said the Congress government has failed in fulfilling its basic responsibility of maintaining law and order in the state.

People speaking against the government would be sent to jail for a year without any valid reason under NSA, they said.
