Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal has requested the Union Government to include the remaining eight districts also under the National Horticulture Mission.
In a letter to Union Agriculture Minister Radhamohan Singh, Agrawal said the remaining eight districts also be included in the project.
He added that Dhamtari, Mahasamund, Janjgir-Champa, Dantewada, Kanker, Bijapur, Narayanpur and Sukma are not part of the National Horticulture Mission. Five districts are tribal-dominated and Naxalites'-affected districts and have immense possibilities for Horticulture.
The scheme will help the tribals in adopting modern technology and increase their incomes. The districts are dependent on agriculture.
