The Chhattisgarh Police will soon be launching a mobile application Citizen Cop to curb crime and ensure safety of women by involving active participation of citizens.

Chief Minister Raman Singh is likely to launch the application on September 8.

“Citizen Cop is a people-friendly mobile-based public safety application to empower every citizen to be a powerful Cop’’ , Raipur Range Inspector General of Police (IGP) GP Singh said.

“Since approaching police stations to report every petty crime has been felt a lengthy process, this application would help citizens to report the crime, lost articles and seek emergency help at the time of distress at the click of a button,” he said.
