In a major decision that will have impact on scores of people living in different parts of Chhattisgarh, the State Government has decided to regularise illegal constructions.
This was decided during the State Cabinet meeting held on Friday, informed Chhattisgarh Housing and Environment Minister Rajesh Munat while talking to reporters in Chhattisgarh Assembly complex.
According to him, the State Government had launched a similar scheme in year 2003 but its results were not favourable then.
The State Government had then formed a Sub Committee which after closely studying the entire process has submitted its report before the State Cabinet.“The Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Raman Singh has decided to extend a major relief to a major chunk of people living in different parts of the State by regularising the illegal constructions,” Munat told reporters.
He said in every district an authority will be formed which will be headed by the district collectors to look into such matters.
The regularisation scheme will be effective for a period of one year. Certain guidelines and fee has been decided on whose basis illegal constructions like building of commercial complex in residential area and similar others will be regularised, he added.
