Chief Electoral Officer, Subrat Sahoo on Thursday chaired a review meeting of all the District Collectors and District Electoral Officers and exhorted them to gear up for preparations for Lok Sabha polls.
Through video-conferencing he was connected with the District Collectors and DEOs of all over the state and he stressed on ensuring a free and fair polls in the state.
He also apprised in the meeting that a two-day certification course would be undertaken in Raipur for all the returning officers in the state along with DEOs. The officials were also instructed to study the guidelines of Elections Commission of India for conducting the polls efficiently. Sahoo also issued instructions to the officials regarding revision of electoral roll, selection of polling booths, voter helpline, Voter’s Awareness Programmes and formation of vigilance committees.
He also instructed the officials to conduct training programmes for vigilance and other committees formed so that they could execute their job well with the enforcement of model code of conduct.
