The Central Government has given ‘in-principle’ consent to open One-stop Help Centres for women in distress in each of the 27 districts of Chhattisgarh.
State Women and Child Development Minister Ramsheela Sahu on Thursday called on Union Women and Child Development Minister Menaka Gandhi in Shastri Bhavan in New Delhi and requested for opening One-stop centers in all the districts of State for supporting women in need.
On her request, the Union Minister accorded ‘in-principal’ approval to the proposal of Chhattisgarh Government.
During the meeting, Sahu drew the Union Minister's attention towards issues pending at Central-level.
She requested Central Government to restart distribution of double fortified salt, to increase the amount of funds allotted under Sabala Yojana for nutritious meal distribution and to release the allotment under Sabala Yojana in year 2016-17.
Sahu also requested the Central government to include Balod, Janjgir-Champa, Jashpur, Kawardha and Narayanpur districts of Chhattisgarh under Beti-Bachao, Beti-Padhao Yojana.
Sahu informed the Union Minister that Sabala Yojana is being conducted in 10 districts of the State, and Kishori Shakti Yojana is being implemented in only 92 out of 132 projects of remaining 17 districts of the State.
She told that girls in remaining 40 projects of these 17 districts are deprived of the benefits of this scheme.
Sahu demanded permission to start implementation of Kishori Shakti Scheme in remaining 40 projects soon.
