Caste row: Time running out for Jogi, says State pleader

SR

The sword is hanging over former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi in the case relating to his caste as the High Court is set to decide the issue before November 2013, claimed in-charge Advocate General Jugal Kishore Gilda.

According to the State Government pleader, the Vigilance Cell which had been earlier asked to submit its report on the status of the caste of the former Chief Minister, which did not seek any information from Ajit Jogi nor ever questioned him while it submitted its report on 22. 4. 2013 and 22. 6. 2013 giving space to Jogi to make it a point of objection in High Court and also in Supreme Court, when the State Government challenged the HC order in the Apex Court.

Now, the high powered Caste Scrutiny Committee, which is also empowered by the High Court, has decided to take back the vigilance Cell Report from the High Court for including in it some more facts and also give opportunity to the former Chief Minister to put up his views, will submit its final report within the set time frame as per the affidavit it has submitted in the High Court.

The High Court has already disposed off the petition of Jogi submitted in this regard earlier. In this scenario, even if Jogi’s views are taken care of, it would hardly impact conclusion of Vigilance cell as well as the High Power Caste Scrutiny Committee.

The contentions of the former Chief Minister, who claimed to be belonging to Scheduled Tribes section (Kanwar Caste) would no more stand the test of the facts which go contrary to the claims of Jogi.
