Collector and District Electoral Officer Rajesh Sukumar Toppo has stated that the candidates filing nominations must have to fill all the columns in the form provided to them.
In case any candidate leaves any column blank in the affidavit, a notice would be sent to him which would be issued by the Returning Officer. If the candidate still does not complete the procedure in the nomination process, his nomination would be rejected, he said. Toppo said that as per the directives of the Election Commission, the ‘SVEEP’ plan is under implementation in the district for getting maximum number of voters to exercise their franchise in the polls .
Speech competitions and rallies are being held under the voter awareness drive at the Tehsil and district headquarters level, he said. Toppo said that the the BlOs would be visiting every home 3 to 4 days before polls at the Block level for distributing voter slips. These slips would also be available to the citizens at the polling centers through the BlOs as per the directives of the Election Commission, Toppo said.
He directed officials to make elaborate arrangements for deployment of police force in the district as per the demand for security personnel required for the polls.
