Now, people coming to hospitals for treatment won’t have to bring old papers/records of the related disease as MTSNP score will provide every changes in DNA. On the other hand, trough the bio marker, probability of cancer can be detected 10 years in advance besides even with less expensive medicines many serious ailments could be treated. All these informations were provided by medical experts who converged at Raipur from outside in connection with a national symposium organised here Thursday.
Notably, Bio Chemistry department of Raipur Medical College organised a workshop on ‘Role of Bio Informatics in Medicine’ in which experts from outside state provided information regarding modern technique of treatment used these days.
The workshop was inaugurated by Vice chancellor of Ayush Dr AT Dabke, Director of All India Institute of Medical Science Nitin M Nagarkar, Dean Dr AK Sharma, and Superintendent of Ambedkar Hospital Dr Vivek Choudhari.
On this occasion convenor of the symposium Dr P K Khodiyar, Head of Bio Chemistry department Dr P K Patra, other doctors and students were also present.
In the first session of the workshop, Professor of Government Medical College Surat Dr Shailesh M Patel informed that with the assistance of linux software a patient can be treated without bringing his earlier report card as doctors also have comfort in treating the patient on the basis of information related to the ailment. In this software, all the details of the patient including his name, problems, earlier treatment etc are saved. Just on the arrival of the patient, doctor starts treatment on a clique of mouse, he added.
In the second session, senior scientist of Cellular and Molecular Biology Centre Hyderabad Dr Shrish Tiwari informed that MTSNP Score system is a technique through which any change in the DNA and genes can be identified easily. In this system patient is compared with a normal person and then anomalies are easily identified which helps in starting the treatment at the earliest, he added.
Paediatrics of New Delhi Dr O P Thakkar informed that with the help of Bio Marker, all forms of cancer including breast cancer can be detected 10 years in advance. According to him, presently existing techniques are not able to identify cancer in preliminary stage and is detected only after years when it enters secondary or tertiary stage when treatment becomes very difficult. This technique is being used in foreign countries and in Delhi too he has started using this technique he added.
