Chhattisgarh's herbal products are now available on Amazon under the brand name 'Chhattisgarh Herbals'. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday became the first online customer by ordering 'Forest Honey".
Baghel placed an order on the app for 'Van Honey' prepared by women self-help groups. Many products like Forest Honey, Organic Bastar Cashew, Chironji and Mahua Laddu are now available on Amazon.
Appreciating the initiative by the Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Association, Baghel said that through Amazon these products will get a bigger market and recognition across the country.
Forest and Climate Change Minister Mohammad Akbar was present on the occasion.
The Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Association has collaborated with Amazon to encourage women entrepreneurs under the Saheli programme.
Minor forest produce collected by the forest dwelling tribes is procured at minimum support price and converted into various consumer products at Van Dhan Vikas Kendras run by women self-help groups.
