Chhattisgarh has planned to enact a special law to ensure safety of doctors and medical staff. Health minister TS Singh Deo has instructed state government’s health secretary to come up with a draft for the proposed law, officials informed here on Sunday.

Sources further added that that the committee headed by health secretary Niharika Barik will keep the draft law ready within one month. The draft of this special law will be presented in upcoming state legislative assembly session.

The state has decided to form law for the protection of doctors and medical staff considering the recent stalling of medical services due to the strike of doctors following doctor-patients scuffle, officials said.
