The Congress government seems to have totally failed in fighting Naxalites in Bastar Division in Chhattisgarh, BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Dharamlal Kaushik said on Monday.
An officer of the CRPF’s CoBRA unit, Vikas Kumar, who was injured on Sunday when an IED planted by Maoists exploded while it was being defused in Sukma district, died on Monday in a Raipur hospital.
Paying his tribute to Kumar, Kaushik said Naxalite incidents have increased in the state in the last two years since the Congress took power.
The government seems to have completely failed in fighting the Naxalites, he added.
Naxalism has become cancer due to the failures of the state government, which he said neither has a concrete action plan nor an intention to eliminate it.
