Chhattisgarh has again topped the states in the country with the lowest unemployment rate for August this year.

An official communiqué on Thursday stated that the latest data released by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) says that Chhattisgarh           registered a mere 0.4 per cent unemployment in August, the lowest so far.

In March-April, the           figure stood at 0.7 per cent. That too was the lowest among all the states.

During August, the country’s unemployment rate stood at 8.3 per cent, the statement said citing CMIE data. Haryana recorded the highest rate of unemployment at 37.3 per cent.

The Bhupesh Baghel government’s pro-farmer policies have and welfare schemes have contributed to this, the communiqué said.
