Bus operators to keep vehicles off the roads during Holi

SR

Bus operators from across the State will keep their vehicles off roads from Tuesday evening for two days on account of Holi with the fear of them getting vandalised by revellers.

There are currently an estimated 10,000 buses playing in Chhattisgarh out of which about 1,000 buses ply from Raipur itself to different parts of the State.

The bus operators have decided to keep their vehicles off roads as a precautionary measure to prevent damage caused to them during the festival.

None of the buses would ply from Tuesday evening till Wednesday evening. There would be some buses which will start operating from Thursday and the regular bus services would commence from Friday onwards.

Moreover, there would be only 30 per cent of the total number of buses which will ply at night on long haul routes during the festival while the rest would remain off roads, the bus operators informed.
