BSP urges to stop pumping water from main pipe lines

The Town Services Department of Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) has appealed the residents to refrain from pumping water from the main pipe lines.

The water shortage in the region due to scant rainfall is assuming crisis proportions because of which water is being supplied once a day in township during morning hours since August 29 this year, according to a BSP press release issued here on Wednesday.

It has come to the notice of the Department that water is being pumped by residents straight from the main line. The same can hamper proper and equitable supply of water, it stated.

In view of this, raids would be carried out in residential sectors of the township from  September 14 to identify occupants who are pumping water following which departmental action would be taken against the allottee concerned.

The TSD is therefore urging locals to refrain from pumping water directly from the main line. The TSD has appealed the residents to complain with their respective water tank employees if they notice any such exercise.

“If residents do not pay heed to this appeal and the situation remains the same, the management would be forced to cut power supply from 6 am to 8 am. The management therefore appeals to all residents to cooperate so that any such unpleasant situation can be avoided,” it stated.
