Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Hemant Poyam has alleged on Sunday that installing hoardings of Jagdalpur royal family scion Kamla Chandra Bhanj Deo who recently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is a violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
Poyam alleged that the hoardings of the Deo would indirectly benefit the BJP in the Assembly polls. He urged that the hoardings should be removed immediately.
The BSP leader stated that the BJP won the last Assembly polls on the basis of ‘one-sided’ voting by the tribals community but the party has neglected tribals.
‘The Gond, Maadiya, Muriya and Dorla tribals are collectively known as members of ‘Koya’ community. This apart, the Madiya tribals had been residing in Kangoli village in Parpa Gram Panchayats for the past three to four generations who worked to make the land fit for agriculture and now the same is being acquired by the district administration in the name of developing a ‘Police Colony’ which has full consent of tribal MlAs and MPs’, Poyam said.
He said that on the same land, the tribals thorough their organization ‘Koya Kutma’ by constructing an Ashram, Community building and a sports ground is preparing for the better future of their children but the MPs never raise the issue in the parliament.
But now the BSP would take the issue of the 17 acres of land with the tribals to the court to expose the inefficiency of the public representatives’, he added.
