The HRPE Section of Bhilai Steel Plant’s (BSP) Personnel Department held its first in the series of workshops on ‘Team Building in MODEX Units’ beginning with SP-III Second M/c on Thursday (June 19) at Bhilai Management Development Centre here.
Inaugurating the workshop, GS Sangar, DGM (P-HRPE) emphasised on the importance of team spirit and team work among the BSP employees & contractual workmen in mutual sharing of knowledge on safety & safe working practices besides achieving production targets.Team building and good team work is a prerequisite overall achievement of Plant aims and targets, he said.
‘We should feel that contract workers are part of our team, Sangar emphasized, adding, whatever we learn, be it technical points or safety should be passed on to contract workers.Safety is the responsibility of all of us and for all the people, be it regular employees or contract workers, he said.
Team building workshop is being held at an opportune time when the SP-III Second M/c is all set and poised for reaching its rated production capacity, Sangar said.Kota Bhanumurthy DGM (P-Emp. Serv.) as an expert Faculty on team building addressed the participants, both Executives & Non-Executives from SP-III Second M/c and drove home the point that team work is all the more important in the MODEX Units.
He provided various inputs on the definition of team work, constituents of a team, responsibilities and role of a team and importance of taking initiative and engaged the participants with innovative team exercises and activities.SP-III Second M/c team of participants was led by V Padmanabhan, AGM(SP-3). S K Sharma, AGM (SP-3) and Shrikant Ramaraju, SM (HRPE) were present on the occasion. The workshop was coordinated by Shri Amaresh Kumar, AGM (HRPE) and compered by Ms. Aparna Chandra, DM (HRD).
