Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal on Wednesday approved the proposal for opening of ‘Kisan Upbhokta Bazar’ (Farmers’ Consumer Market) in the district.
The Minister sanctioned fund of Rs 50 lakh for the project at a review meeting held at Gariaband District Collectorate here.
At the Kisan Bazaar, only farmers will be allowed to sell their crops. During the meeting, Agrawal ordered the officials for identifying at least 25 acres of land for Gaushalas in all development blocks. Also, he directed to ensure the storage and lifting of paddy besides making micro irrigation plan under Prime Minister’s Irrigation Scheme.
