The Chhattisgarh government has relieved an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer for Central deputation with immediate effect, it was announced on Monday.
A 1999 batch officer and Secretary of Parliamentary Affairs, Sonmani Borah was named a Joint Secretary in the Department of Land Resources in New Delhi in May this year. Meanwhile, IAS officer Avinash Champawat has been given additional responsibility as Secretary of Parliamentary Affairs, an order said.
Champawat is Secretary in the Water Resources Department and is also Secretary of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department.
