BJP candidate from Ramanujganj Assembly seat and Minister Ramvichar Netam is getting ready to register defamation case against Congress candidate Brihaspat Singh. In a notice issued through his lawyer, Netam asked Singh to render public apology on his allegations within 15 days.

Congress candidate Brihaspat Singh, who was fighting the election against Netam, had levelled serious allegations of corruption against him. He had also alleged that Netam has amassed wealth worth more than 5,000 crore. On these allegations, Netam, through his lawyer Premkumar Sharma, sent notice to the Congress candidate. In the notice, he mentioned that the Congress candidate had made efforts to impress the voters by levelling baseless allegations.

Netam said that if the Congress candidate would not render public apology on the allegation that he had made within 15 days, he would register a case in the court and demand Rs 25 lakh compensation. Brihaspat Singh had levelled serious allegations against collector CR Prasanna and SP GS Durro, saying that minister Netam has given money to the collector and the SP to affect the election. Against this collector Prasanna had registered case in the court against the Congress candidate and demanded Rs 5 lakh compensation.

The Congress candidate had made complaint of irregularities in the polling to the election commission, in which stating the role of the collector as suspicious, he demanded to send IAS officers as observers for the counting of votes.
