SR

South Indian actress and Congress leader Nagma came under sharp criticism from the BJP on Monday for her alleged remark about women’s safety in Chhattisgarh. The State president of BJP’s Women’s wing Shobha Soni ridiculed Nagma while saying that she should speak issues of real life rather than the ‘reel life’.

According to her, the actress even lacked basic knowledge about the tribal State Chhattisgarh and was making baseless allegations against the State Government. The people of Chhattisgarh, she thundered, did not like the acting of the Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi.

Against this background, Soni said, it was not possible that the people would like her (Nagma) acting.Earlier during an election rally, the south Indian actress said that women were not safe and expressed her sympathy over their plight in Chhattisgarh.

The actress is one of the star campaigners of the Congress who was in the State to campaign for party candidate for the last phase of the third phase of polls in the State.Mocking the general knowledge of the Nagma, Soni said even she (Nagama) had addressed separatist leader Gilani as ‘Bharat Ratna awardee’.

Soni also advised her instead of bothering about the safety of women in Chhattisgarh, she should protect herself from molestation from her own Congressmen.

She was referring to molestation attempt on Nagma in different road shows in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and other places.

The BJP leader also listed out the welfare schemes such as issuing ration cards in the name of women considering them as head of the family, free education facilities for female children, 50 per cent reservation for women in civic bodies among other things initiated by BJP Government in the State.
