Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday urged President Pranab Mukherjee for immediate dismissal of the United Progressive Alliance Government considering the fact that its further continuation would ruin the country both economically as well as politically.
Addressing a Press conference here in Raipur, national general secretary and spokesman of BJP Rajiv Pratap Rudi charged that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P Chidambaram both were directly involved in the infamous 2G spectrum scam while the PM has also a role in ‘Coalgate’ but despite having clinching evidence against them none of the two are ready to quit.
Questioning the palpable delay in taking resignations of Pavan Bansal in Rail graft scam and law Minister Ashwini Kumar for the alleged changes in the CBI probe report in Coal block allocation case, Rudi alleged that it was perhaps the ploy of the central Government to keep the resignation issue and the subsequent logjam in parliament pending for days to divert the attention of the people from corruption charges against the Prime Minister.
He, at the same time, also wanted to know who was the real beneficiary of the alleged changes incorporated in the Coalgate investigation report of the Central Bureau of InvestigationIJ
Rudi claimed that the UPA Government was not the one which was formed with the support of 272 majority. Now a number of allies like DMK, Trinamul, TRS and others have deserted it due to its bad policies and presently it has been reduced to minority and is running on the crutch of support extended by 22 Samajwadi party MPs and can crumble any time.
The BJP spokesman charged that UPA Government failed both on administrative as well as foreign policy fronts. While neighbours like Pakistan, China, Bangladesh and even Maldives are browbeating India, on domestic front a number of scams like Commonwealth Games scam, 2G spectrum scam, Coalgate scam, Westland Helicopter scam, Rail Graft scam and its cold feet on the issue of taking decisive step to bring back the black money stashed abroad has eclipsed the credibility of the UPA government, Rudi charged.Notably, in its bid to force Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the issue of ‘Coalgate’ probe and the UPA Government’s alleged bid to derail the same, BJP leadership has reportedly asked all its general secretaries to visit different parts of country from May 12 to 17 and create public opinion as well as pressure against the Central Government.
