BJP says C'garh govt has no vision to tackle Covid-19

If the Chhattisgarh Health Minister knew the state will see over 60,000 patients of Covid-19, then why was no prior strategic work done to counter it, asked former Health Minister and senior BJP leader Amar Agrawal on Saturday.

In a statement to the media, Agrawal said this means that the state government had accepted its failure to tackle the spike in Covid-19 cases.

The height of insensitivity can be gauged from fact that no steps were taken to acquire necessary medicines and equipment from the market early on.

Compared to BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh, the recovery rate in Chhattisgarh is less, the former Minister said. There is no clear policy on home isolation also, Agrawal pointed out.

Agrawal accused Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Health Minister T.S. Singh Deo of giving conflicting statements.

The Chief Minister claims that everything is under control while the Health Minister speaks of spiraling numbers. On the ground, patients are facing problems and hospitals lack facilities, he said.

The former Minister objected to the assault on a woman police constable by Congress leaders who were questioned for not wearing masks. This is an insult to the corona warriors.

Meanwhile, BJP state spokesperson Sanjay Shrivastava sought better facilities for treatment of patients instead of makeshift tents.

Citing a video of a patient in a Covid-19 hospital of Bhilai, he said there was no oxygen for patients.
