BJP proud of Raman Singh govt’s achievements: Kaushik

Staff Reporter

Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik said BJP is proud to have introduced food security for poor in the state which was later emulated by other states in the country.

Talking to media on Saturday, he said, “Not only different agencies of UN, even Supreme Court had lauded the then BJP government for its PDS scheme. The apex court had even directed to implement ‘Chhattisgarh model’ in the country. This was done after more than 50 years of Congress rule in the states where utter poverty prevailed, requiring to implement basic scheme of food security.”

He pointed out that the state was known for starvation deaths, gastroenteritis and diarrhea, which were achievements of the Congress government. But under the BJP government no deaths were reported that is why tribals’ named Raman Singh ‘Chourwale Baba’.

The Congress is afraid of Raman Singh’s popularity and that is why it is trying to defame him.

Kaushik said just for political gains even after a massive mandate the Congress government is failing due to its corruptions, that also just before polls. All developmental works have come to a standstill, reflecting true character of ruling party. Such acts have to be condemned.

On the issue of PDS scam, Kaushik said it is Raman’s government which took initiatives to file cases against the accused. Forming of SIT on the basis of an application of another accused is nothing but vendetta politics of the Congress. Congress itself had opposed cancellation of ration cards and now it’s terming those cards as fake.

Listing out the recent developments, Kaushik said, affidavits of Manturam case and now of PDS scam accused shows desperate mode to influence cases when it is already sub-judiced.
