Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders on Wednesday paid homage to Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, founder of BJP's predecessor Bharatiya Jana Sangh, on his 68th death anniversary by garlanding his statue at Sharda Chowk here.
BJP’s Lok Sabha member Sunil Soni praised Mukherjee for his fight for Kashkir and said his dreams were fulfilled in 2019 when Section 370 of the Constitution giving the state special status was abolished.
BJP leader Brijmohan Agrawal added: “He laid down his life for the country and sowed the seeds of nationalism."
