BJP launches ‘Parivartan Yatra’ to vote out Congress

Staff Reporter

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday kickstarted its ‘Parivartan Yatra’ from the tribal-dominated Dantewada district in Chhattisgarh.

The Yatra was scheduled to be launched by Union Home Minister Amit Shah but his visit was cancelled at the last moment, a party leader said.

Chhattisgarh BJP in-charge Om Mathur flagged off the event after praying at the Maa Danteshwari temple in Dantewada town.

Earlier, Mathur and Chhattisgarh BJP chief Arun Sao addressed a public rally here.

Former Chief Minister Raman Singh alleged that the Congress government in Chhattisgarh had indulged in corruption and looted people in the last five years.

He said the Parivartan Yatra is aimed at uprooting the ‘corrupt and incompetent’ Congress government in upcoming assembly polls.
