BJP faces dissidence over ticket distribution in Rajnandgaon dist too

PNS

With less than a month to go for Chhattisgarh assembly election, the Bharatiya Janata Party in Rajnandgaon district also seems to be facing challenges from within.

The ruling Party has announced its candidates for different assembly constituencies but that appeared to have not gone well with many.

Speculation was rife, many of those denied tickets could either contest the election as independents, or support to other regional parties. If that happens, it could jeopardize the prospects of the party in the regions. Except  Khairagarh where the party has given ticket to sitting legislator  Komal Janghel for the third time in a row, it fielded new faces in district’s majority of constituencies. The new faces which the party fielded are Sarojini Banjare for Dongargarh, Vijay Sahu for Khujji, district Zila Parisad chairman Dinesh Gandhi for Dongargaon, and Bhojesh Shah Mandabi for Mohla-Manpur constituency.

The party denied tickets to at least two sitting legislators they are Ramji Bharati and Kheduram Sahu. The party is likely to face strong dissidence in the constituency where it denied tickets to sitting legislators. Sources said such dissidence could be seen in constituency like Khujji and Dongargaon.

Vijay Sahu who has been fielded in Khujji is a resident of Ambagarh Chouki. Since he is not local residents BJP workers appeared to be unhappy. Although Dinesh Gandhi who has been fielded in Dongagaon is not facing any significance dissidence, the caste factor may go against him, sources said.

Similarly Bhojesh Shah, who is contesting from Mohla-Manpur, is facing dissidence within. Sources said he has come from Congress recently. Former legislator Sanjib Shah and aspirant Kanchanmala Bhuarya are said to be against him.

For Komal Janghel who is contesting for the third time in a row from Khairagarh things do not seem to be positive at this moment. Senior party leader Aswini Tamrakar had launched a tirade against him recently through a farmers’ organization. Similarly, Janghel’s difference with state BJP vice president Siddharth Singh is also well-known which could play a role against him.
