Taking strict action against the rebels ahead of the urban body polls, Chhattisgarh BJP has expelled 197 and suspended one worker from the party.
The decision was taken by the party when these workers refused to follow the orders and decided to contest election against the party’s official candidates besides campaigning against the party candidates. The list of expelled workers provided by the BJP State headquarter states that the rebels include two Mayoral candidates from Durg including Mamata Dubey and Jayashree Joshi.
Mahendra Singh Thakur of Kanker has been suspended for anti-party activities. The maximum workers facing expulsion are from Rajnandgaon where party has expelled 64 workers. It is followed by Durg with 41, Bastar with 33, Raigarh with 17, Surguja with 14, Bemetara with 13, Kanker with 5, Mungeli and Bhilai with four each , Koriya with two and Kondagaon with one worker expelled from the party.
