BJP dubs Congress dharna at Jantar Mantar 'comedy show'

Terming the demonstration held by senior leaders of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) at Jantar-Mantar in New Delhi, a “comedy show’, State BJP leaders said that the Congress has once again not been able to put up a ‘good show’.

In a statement issued by BJP State headquarters ‘Ekatm Parisar’ here on Monday, BJP State general secretary and spokesperson Shivratan Sharma said that Congress State president Bhupesh Baghel has turned out to be the most faint hearted of all Congress

presidents.

Sharma said that the Congress demonstration was just an attempt by Baghel to cover his failures, said Sharma.

He said that the demonstration by Congress demanding cancellation of Antagarh by-poll is a reflection of desperation brewing up among the Congressmen.

The party lacked unanimity over selection of candidate for Antagarh by-poll and eventually selected Manturam Pawar who has a record of three continuous defeats.

Since Congress party was not in a position to win the seat, they made Pawar a scapegoat who realised their intentions and withdrew his name at the last moment, said Sharma.

The internal feud in Congress has reached to its extreme and the leaders of different factions do not miss any opportunity to lodge plaints against each other with the Congress high command, he said.

“After humiliating defeats in every election, the Congress is struggling for existence. People are aware of the facts and they have read the intentions of Congress leaders trying to mislead people ahead of urban body and panchayat elections.  But BJP is confident of its victory and will continue with its role in the development of the State”, Sharma said.
