The BJP on Sunday demanded strict action against land mafia who indiscriminately did illegal plotting of land in the Chhattisgarh capital Raipur during the lockdown due to coronavirus.
BJP spokesperson Sanjay Shrivastava alleged that when all kinds of construction were stalled during the lockdown, the land mafia took advantage of the period and gave protection for illegal plotting.
He said the matter came to light after the Raipur Municipal Corporation came down heavily on 150 acres of illegal plotting in the last three months.
Shrivastava alleged that since the Congress came to power in the state, many land mafias had been suddenly active and they were engaged in illegal plotting of government and agriculture lands under political patronage.
