BJP condemns arrest of its leaders at Jagdalpur

Staff Reporter

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday condemned the arrest of a former Minister, MLAs and other leaders at Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh for backing an agitation against corruption.

MLA, Raipur South and former Minister Brijmohan Agrawal told the media  that former Minister Kedar Kashyap, former MLAs and other leaders had called a ‘bandh’ at Jagdalpur.

The BJP is supporting the beneficiaries of the Prime Minister Housing Scheme as the Jagdalpur Congress corporator has allegedly taken Rs 25,000 from each beneficiary for sanction of the remaining amount.

The beneficiaries are now at the brink of being evacuated from their incomplete houses, said Agrawal.

The duped beneficiaries have been protesting for the last 25 days demanding the arrest of Congress corporator.

The police arrested the BJP leaders for participating in Tuesday's bandh, he added.

Agrawal said the state government was taking action against transporters instead of putting a spanner on illegal sand mining.
