The Congress’ media in-charge for Raipur West Assembly constituency Brijesh Satpathi on Monday alleged that the BJP candidate from the constituency has been threatening the workers of Mitanin and self help groups and distributing money to woo the voters of the whole constituency.
He said that seizure of lakhs of rupees from the vehicle of the BJP at Gudhihari area was the glaring evidence of his claim. In spite of that the police administration did not take any stern action against the persons and released them on pressure. The police have also shown the seized amount as only Rs 1.84 lakh.
He claimed that such activities of distributing money among the poor people of the areas had been going on since last several days, despite of the strict instructions of the election commission.
Protesting the incident, Congress men on Monday demonstrated at the police station for over three hours. But it was unfortunate that even after their protest the police administration did not take any action against the accused, he said.
