The Artisan Cell of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday announced to launch ‘Modi-for-PM’ campaign to create awareness among the artisans in the country.

Criticising the Congress for not doing anything for artisans, the cell leaders said it was right time for all the artisans to join hands and ensure that Narendra Modi becomes the Prime Minister.

Congratulating the members of the artisan cells on their first executive meeting here, Chief Minister Raman Singh said the way the cell involved large number of artisans they deserve appreciation.

Praising the cell chairman V. Viswanathan for his work and expressing his confidence that the cell will be able to achieve its goal, the Chief Minister said the Chhattisgarh Government has been educating artisans by implementing several skill development programmes.

Under the skill development programme, the Government provides different facilities starting from accommodation to food to the artisans during their three-four months training.

This year the Government has aimed to provide training to about two lakh artisans, he said. He said it was because of the hard work the artisans in the country continued to register their existence even if the market was flooded by Chinese products.

The artisan cell has played major role behind the formation of BJP Government for the third term and they should work hard across the country to install Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister, he said. He also urged them to organise artisans of both organised and non organised sector for better progress.

Artisan cell chairman V. Viswanathan said the BJP has set up the cell to ensure that the artisans who have been working for several years get the fruits of development.

He also informed that Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has created a separate ministry for artisans. “We hope that in the coming days we will have a artisan development board” he said.
