A day after the Congress high-command decided to continue with Bhupesh Baghel as the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee President, Baghel claimed on Sunday that Congress would win Assembly polls in the State scheduled to be held later this year.
A very big responsibility has been conferred upon me by the party high-command,’’ Baghel told reporters at his residence in Bhilai. He said that the Congress would certainly return back to the power in the State.
Commenting on appointments of two more Working Presidents in Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), Bhupesh said he believed in ‘collective leadership’ and the move will help him in achieving the goal (winning the assembly polls).
Congress high-command has appointed two working presidents, Ramdayal Uikey from Scheduled Tribe and Shiv Kumar Daharia from Scheduled Caste, in PCC to help the OBC leader Baghel to make a turnaround in the state which has become a BJP citadel for past 14 years.
Baghel further said that each and every worker of the party had pulled up their socks and were prepared for the polls.
Each of the party workers is committed to Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi and the Congress is surely getting majority in the election,’’ he remarked.
