Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel took a pot shot at the Bharatiya Janata Party stating that whatever the target the BJP set, the Congress achieved it.

“This time for the Lok Sabha Polls 2019, BJP has set the ‘Target 11’, so Congress will achieve it,” he said.

He was talking to media after the ruling party’s first meeting of the election campaign committee held at Chhattisgarh Congress headquarters, Rajiv Bhavan.

Baghel, who is also the president of the Pradesh Congress, said, “This is the maiden meeting of the campaign committee convened to work out strategy for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.”

AICC Chhattisgarh in-charge P. L. Punia, AICC general secretary Motilal Vora and other senior leaders were also present in the meeting.

On BJP’s target of winning all the 11 seats in the state, Baghel said: “BJP sets the target, we achieve it. Last time in state assembly they set ‘Mission 65’ but Congress won 68 seats. Recently, former chief minister Raman Singh said they would win 11 seats, so in reality we would win these seats.”

Meanwhile, Punia held a series of meetings with party’s frontal organisations for the last two days.

On Saturday, he went into huddle with party’s block level office bearers and district level office bearers. He called upon the workers to strengthen the party organisation and bring back to the party fold all those who had have been angry since last assembly elections.
