Bharat Bandh called by certain organisations on Tuesday remained incident-free across Chhattisgarh on Tuesday.
Some members of groups, around a dozen in number, tried to enforce ‘Bandh’ on Tuesday to protest the reservations in jobs and education sector and had called for a Bandh .
Security in Raipur was tightened and the protestors were arrested right in the morning hours. Though efforts were made for ‘Bandh’ in urban areas of the state by the organizers, there was no effect of Bandh call in the rural areas of the state.
Notably, the Dalit organisations on April 2 had staged an agitation and had called for a nation-wide Bandh against the recent SC judgment about diluting the SC/ST Act 1989.
In retaliation, some groups had called for a nation-wide Bandh on Tuesday to protest the reservation in jobs and education sector.
