Keeping in view the increasing number of cases of Delta Plus Covid-19 variant in neighbouring Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has called for precautions and preventive measures in Chhattisgarh as well.
Warning against the spread of the new variant, Baghel has told officials to keep a close watch on the movement at inter-state borders, an official communication said on Thursday.
He has urged people to take utmost caution for their own safety and the safety of others. Baghel said everyone should strictly follow the Covid-19 appropriate behaviour.
Samples are being sent from AIIMS Raipur and Raipur Medical College's Virology Lab to Bhubaneswar AIIMS and other cities for a detailed study to detect Delta Plus variant.
So far, the new variant has not been found in any sample collected in Chhattisgarh, he said.
